North Carolina has over 11,000 children, teens, and young adults in foster care and approximately 6,000 resource families to care for them. May 2, 2023 is National Foster Care Day and we're asking you to partner with us in raising $8,000 between now and then! If you can't say yes to becoming a resource parent, will you say yes to supporting us financially?
Our Vision for 2023:
-Increase free training opportunities for resource families
-Listen to, learn from, and amplify current and former foster youth voices
-Host Virtual Support Groups in all 7 Regions of NC
-Establish "Foster Closets" to meet tangible needs of resource families
-Launch a Statewide Needs Assessment for ALL resource families in partnership with UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work
-Recruit more resource families
-Improve supports to retain resource families
-Expand our advocacy work for youth and families
-Continue to collaborate and build professional partnerships with agencies, non-profits, and other entities who desire to see improved outcomes for youth and families in NC
